When looking for implementation strategies to help manage wastewater in the neighborhood Over-The-Rhine in Cincinnati, Ohio, I took inspiration from Urban Lab's "Block Party." Every day the average resident in Over-The-Rhine produces about 100 gallons of wastewater. The block party seemed to be the best strategy to combat this issue with a sustainable approach that also brings economic prosperity to the area. This map lays out where the block party strategy would be best implemented.

This render shows this structure which is the proposed block party. Having these block parties throughout the streets and corners of OTR allows water to be cleaned closer to home without going through a centralized treatment plant. A mini-treatment facility that doubles as a food kiosk, bus stop, or recycling center will create an organic safe treatment process central to the neighborhood. Having these throughout the neighborhood not only establishes better morale, but fosters a safer environment, and more job opportunities.

This specific render is a water treatment center on top and a little cafe kiosk on the bottom.

This render illustrates what this block party would look like as a bus station. With vibrant colors and a space curated for sitting and waiting, this block party implementation strategy specifically creates a third place and beautifies the neighborhood.
